Woman Arrested After Pottstown Apartment Complex Brawl

April 17, 2010 News No Comments

LOWER POTTSGROVE — Police arrested a Pottstown woman on assault charges following a fight that involved more than 40 people at the Rolling Hills Apartments Saturday evening.

Police arrested Diana Jugbeh Flahn, 45, of Pottstown, and charged her with four counts each of simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment; along with resisting arrest and public drunkenness.

According to reports, police responded to the Rolling Hills Apartments on Buchert Road for a large disturbance around 6 p.m.

Police said that a fight was in progress with 40 to 50 people involved, so police from Limerick, Upper Pottsgrove, West Pottsgrove and Pottstown were called to assist at the scene.

“It was a large gathering and Flahn was the sole instigator at the time,” Lt. Michael Foltz said.

Officers arrested Flahn at the scene after she failed to disperse while seen fighting. “We told her to stop and she came back and began fighting again,” Foltz said.

During their investigation, police said that they learned that initially four female juvenile were assaulted by two adults and four other juveniles, causing the crowd to gather. Police said that the victims were grabbed, punched and struck by the suspects, and they also had hot water thrown onto them.

The other adult, Evon J. Dennis of Pottstown, will be arrested by summons, while the four juveniles involved will be petitioned to Montgomery County Juvenile Court on assault, harassment and related charges, police said.

“All of the parties involved are residents of the Rolling Hills Apartments except for two juveniles, who are from Darby,” Foltz said. “This investigation is ongoing and there will be more arrests and petitions made in this incident.”

Flahn was transported to Lafayette Hill by police, where she was arraigned before District Judge Deborah Lukens Sunday morning. She was released after Lukens set her bail at $5,000 unsecured. Her next court appearance is scheduled for 11:15 a.m. April 14 before District Judge Edward Kropp Sr.
